Most of the books I've made have been journals -- blank books. Annoyingly, most people never write in them, partly because not many people keep journals, but also because they don't want to mar a handmade gift. From my perspective, I would rather see the book with a coffee ring on the front cover, a page torn out, and shopping lists on every other page; evidence that the book is part of their daily life. What other purpose can a blank book have?
