In León my best friend Julie joined me. I have known her for years, since she was the volunteer coordinator at the Youth Hostel in Boston, and I was a volunteer. She is a funny, cheery soul, though not as funny as I am. She is a Catholic campus minister at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, so she has a lot of free time in the summer, and in a moment of weakness, she had agreed to meet me and walk a ways.
